Background

The Association for Studies in Innovation, Science and Technology-UK (AsSIST-UK) was launched at the University of Sussex on August 25 2015 kindly hosted by SPRU, and supported by a number of sponsors, including the European Association for Studies of Science and Technology (EASST). Over 100 Delegates from over 30 academic organisations attended, including senior staff from Nature, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Wellcome Trust, Palgrave Macmillan and the British Society for the History of Science (BSHS).  The meeting agreed the Statement of Foundational Principles and discussed core themes within (STIS), and the goals and long term strategy of the Association.
